Helen Whiteread - for the Celebration of Life for Mr Barry Whiteread

"Lisa is a close family member whom I’ve known all her life. However, when my husband recently passed away, I needed her support in her professional capacity. I benefited from her strength, organisation, and empathy. I trusted her implicitly to walk me through a difficult time, knowing the administrative side of the funeral was in extremely capable hands. I had previously observed and admired Lisa’s work at an unrelated funeral, but this time she was my rock. On the day of the funeral, her presentation was one of poise, composure, and strength. Her understanding and experience made all the attendees feel at ease. She was in complete control at all times. When she spoke, the tone of her voice modulated as necessary. Her thanks to those who spoke was a genuine, positive appreciation-more than a simple “thank you.” She nonetheless has a sense of humour, which we were grateful for at appropriate times during our funeral. Warmth was a feeling she imbued among us all -“warmth” was the word so many people used after the funeral. Lisa has a genuine interest in people. Her life experiences have given her the capacity to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. In particular, for those close to the deceased, her concern, empathy, and compassion are paramount. Lisa understands grief. Lisa has an inner strength. She is calm, but you feel you would be in good hands were there any complications. I’ve had many people make comments about Lisa’s role at the funeral. She was a major part of their feedback to me. They came away with feelings for my husband-of respect, humour, and love-and a sense of privilege at having attended."

Belinda Smith - for the Memorial Ceremony for Mum Merrilyn

"Came to viewing Mum Merrilyn she had Mum looking beaultiful and Lisa with her soft kind heart made a very difficult process much easier. Lisa was so loving, her warmth was felt so much through this day, her words were so comforting and remembered well after Mum's service. Lisa had arrived ahead of time on the day of Mum's service to ensure Mum's coffin had photo's placed on the top, the flower arrangements were in the right spot, as were other photos of Mum also placed in the right position. Attention to detail was perfect. During Mum's service, Lisa did a fantastic job, reading the Eulogy and other supportive kind words on the day. Lisa was mindful of all the people attending the servic. Lisa spoke to everyone, offering her emotional support and guidance. Lisa did a wonderful job doing reading at the burial. I highly recommend Lisa Mitchell as a Civil Celebrant for anyone needing extra emotional support at a most difficult time. Thank you Lisa, from the bottom of my heart, you are and always will be beautiful, affectionate, loving, kind soul, and i know my Mum Merrilyn would give you a big hug and kiss and say "thank you sweet angel for caring for my Belinda and my family". We are forever grateful. Belinda Smith xx"

Philip Murray, General Manager, Glenelg Funerals

I had the privilege of managing Lisa during her time with Glenelg Funerals, where she worked for several years and earned great respect as a dedicated and compassionate member of our team. Having known Lisa for many years, it was clear to me that her true passion lay in helping families celebrate life through story and ceremony. I encouraged her to follow that path because her natural empathy, care, and sincerity are beautifully aligned with the role of a celebrant. Lisa has an exceptional ability to find meaningful and personal ways to honour a life — it’s where the essence of who she is truly shines through.

Katrina

I just wanted to thank you so sincerely for the beautiful service you planned, organised, and delivered for my mother on Thursday, the 20th of November. The words you chose, and the way you spoke them, were simply exquisite. Your softness, your kindness, and your gentle presence brought such comfort to all of us. Everyone who attended commented on how wonderful you were, and I truly couldn’t agree more. There was something very special in the words you wrote and shared about my mother—something uniquely heartfelt and moving. If it’s possible, I would love to keep a copy of that part of the service with my mother’s funeral documents, simply because it meant so much to me. I am sure that Marie would have fully approved and appreciated it. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for the care and compassion you brought to such an important day. It was truly beautiful. Warmest regards, Katrina
